World Vision is an organization that helps transform the lives of the world’s poorest families and children in nearly 100 countries. Their non-profit work extends assistance to all people, regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background. According to World Vision’s consolidated financial Statements around 40 percents of their revenue come from private sources, including individuals, World vision clubs in school, corporation and foundations. They also accept gift in kind, typically food commodities, medicine, and clothing donated through corporations and government agencies.
Haiti however, has been one the most densely populated nation in the western hemisphere. It has had the lowest income per capita of any country in the western zone(U.S.A). Plagued by disease, malnutrition, illiteracy, political upheaval, and deforestation, more than three quarters of the population lived in extreme poverty.
Life for Haitian people especially the children is quite difficult. Though they are supposed to begin school at age six, many parents can’t afford the mandatory school fees, and some villages don’t even have school facilities. It’s not uncommon for a child to enter the first grade at age 15. It is also common for children to marry at an early age.
After the earthquake, the living conditions have become worse. Hundred of thousands of people have died and millions left injured and homeless with no cleaner water supply, an increasing in number of hunger. 98 percent of buildings were destroying by this earthquake; there were no confirmation that all the injuries will survive due to lack of specialist like doctor and medication. Children lost their home and parent, suffer the most.
Cielos Inc has lauched a campaign aiming to assist the people in Haiti build a new and better home. We are intending to provide a better living to people in Haiti by providing them with the basic human needs like food, clothing and shelter. Large amounts of cash need to be made and donated as well as specialists such as doctors, nurses and peacekeepers.
To prove that Cielos Inc were able to help society as well as reputation of the company, we have taken part in the 2010 Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang to generate enough funds and awareness about the catastrophy in Haiti.
We will be selling Special tickets to the circuit as well as concert tickets. Together with non-profit organization, we will host a suprise artist at the event. Artists like Lupe Fiasco,Linkin Park Kenna and many more who have teamed up with us and Music For Relief organization will also perform later on after the race.
Our campaign is expected to last for 3 days aiming to get enough funds that will cater the cause. By visiting our company blog, people can get the chance to donate money or material things like food, blankets, clothes and any other thing that the person would be willing to give. On top of that, guests can purchase different merchandise like Formula 1 jackets, boots, fitted hats and shirts that will available at our stalls.
